Which Lightweight Double Pushchair Should You Buy?

A lightweight double pushchair makes it easy to get around, particularly for families with children of different ages. They are easy to fold, steer and transport up and down steps.

Side-by-Side

The majority of the lightweight Double Stroller pushchairs we tested were side-by-side models. These are best for children who can stand up without assistance, as they tend to lack car seat compatibility. That said they do have a few advantages. Thule Urban Glide 2 Double and Baby Trend Sit 'N Stand Double are both great options that provide adjustable recline in both seats, a wide canopy, and padded five-point harnesses. They're also easy to move despite their larger footprints and are great for parents who worry about fitting through doorways.

The Cybex Duet is a little different due to its clever frame that expands in width to accommodate a second seat, which makes it lighter than the majority of other pushchairs that are side-by-side on the market. It is able to pass through doors that are standard and is easy to maneuver in public transportation. It is also a jogger, which is ideal when you are planning to use it in conjunction with an infant car seat or a baby carrier.

Tandem

While side-byside models are more for children of the same ages, tandem lightweight double pram stroller strollers come with their own charms. However their baskets tend to be smaller than those found on buggies that are single. Another option is a convertible double buggy which starts off as an individual and then you can add adapters to make it into a double. They can have a second seat, carrycot, or both in the front. Or the children can share a seat. Some of them also offer the option to add buggy boards, which can help an older child keep up with younger siblings.
